On her 101st birthday, Tennessee's Ruby Holt saw the ocean for the very first time! The sea wasp jellyfish has enough venom to kill 60 adults. Atomic bomb tests were a major tourist attraction in Las Vegas, Nevada in the 1950s!
Unless they have reclassified the GULF OF MEXICO as an ocean, Ruby Holt has still not been to an ocean. She went to the Perdido Resort at Orange Beach Alabama. Quite a distance from the Atlantic or Pacific ocean. Ripleys need to start doing some fact checking on some of its stories,
The Gulf of Mexico was here she went. She is from Tennessee and had left the state only once to go to Alabama. The visit to the Gulf happened before she turned 101 in Nov. of 2014.
@ tom – that’s really nasty and unfair. Just because a few members of a group are evil, the entire group is not! Would you judge all of Christianity by those creeps at that Westdale Baptist so called church? Or judge all whites by people like George Wallace?

Atlantic or Pacific, Ms. Holt? (I’d say Atlantic.)

I think sea wasp jellyfish were what kept Ruby Holt away from the ocean.

We could feel those atomic blasts in RENO. Frequently happened about 4AM.

If they’d said she saw sea, perhaps it might have been confused with her seeing a teeter-totter for the first time, which would have been a miracle.
