Ferme During the Franco-Prussian war, the 1870 siege of Paris drove starving Parisians to eat the animals in the city zoo. There are only three moose in the world that produced cheese and they all live at Christer and Ulla Johansson's 59 acre's house in Bjurholm, Sweden. Cat hairballs were once thought to cure poisoning, plague and epilepsy.

How devastating for the Parisians (darn Prussians). Also, only THREE moose?!

You have to be very brave(or foolish) to milk moose. I hope that the Johanssons get good money from that cheese.

No realli! She was Karving her initials on the moose with the sharpened end of an interspace toothbrush given her by Svenge – her brother-in-law – an Oslo dentist and star of many Norwegian movies …

I don’t know about the other things, but I do know cat hairballs do cure walking barefoot in a room at night without first turning on the lights. Ew!

Hairball story: My cat hacked up a hairball on my bed one night. I shook the bedspread to get rid of it. The next morning I found it adhered to the bedroom wall. It stayed there several years until the house went up for sale. I had to remove it at the insistence of the realtor.

I thought the plural of Moose was Mooses or maybe Meese.

No creature produces cheese. At best they produce milk which then becomes cheese.

You mean they DON’T cure those things?!
boldyuma about 9 years ago
Because they always put these things together in Ripleys I sometimes get confused..Not knowing about Mooses(Meeces) I was wondering how big the hairball was that they hacked up…Ginormous I supposed..
