If that was literal, Scott spent too much time staring out of the porthole.

The Scott Kelly “factoid” is strange. 10,944 sunrises and sunsets is equivalent to 342 earth days (16 sunrises and 16 sunsets every 24 hours). His year long mission in space was 340 days aboard the ISS. But he also commanded the ISS during Expedition 25 (about two months) and Expedition 26 (about four months). So his total time aboard the ISS is far longer than the 342 days that he “witnessed”. So let’s say they only counted waking hours, about two thirds of each day of his roughly 520 days does equate to 346 days awake. So they must mean “witnessed” as his awake time even though he did not “watch” all of them.Or did he?

Speaking of close finishes, I was at the Rockingham track in ’04 when Matt Kenseth beat Kasey Kahne by 0.01 seconds…

I just hope Scott Kelley hadn’t seen Fiddler on the Roof just before heading to space. Man, talk about an ear worm.

Denny reminds me of an Olympian who won by two thousandths of a second. You’d think the judges would accept the possibility of hitting the stopwatch too fast of slow.
