Sliced bread was patented by a jeweler, Otto Rohwedder, in 1928. He had been working on the machine for 16 years! Thanks to daylight savings time, Samuel Peterson was born about half an hour after his younger twin brother, Ronan! In 2011, an earthquake in Japan knocked 1.8 microseconds off the length of every day afterward.

More interesting would have been if baby A was born at 1:59a and baby B was born after the time changed at 2a by a couple of minute. Then B’s time of birth would be about an hour before A’s time.
