The Russian Orthodox Church is still on the Julian Calendar. And with regards to cats, they’re the only animal officially permissible in any Orthodox church building(Greek, Russian, Romanian, American, etc). This is because they keep mice and other vermin out of the building.
And for the same reason, Russian troops arrived late for the battle of Waterloo. Just think how the outcome could have been!! Things today would be different – not better, just different!
