So… um… then how come no one has bothered to excavate the ocean’s underwater mines for gold? I also wonder what fruit sounds the same in the Chinese language for “together(ness)”?

That must have been a popular solution in London for neighbor dogs that barked all night.

My mom took a trip to Bulgaria in the 70’s and discovered that “peaches” sounds VERY close to the Bulgarian word for prostitute. Caused a bit of confusion at the dinner table.

Who serves pears at a weding?? Also, they don’t serve burgers and fries because it sounds like a poor choice for a wedding banquet.

I put in both “pear” and “separation” into Google Translate and listened to them in both of the Chinese language versions that were available (traditional and simplified) . The sound of the word for “pear” and “separation” sounded nothing alike in Chinese. But there may be other variations.

Peach in Turkish is similar to SOB in English. Doll (girl’s toy) in English sounds same as dol in Turkish, but a different fem. meaning!

Dogs and cats were not held in the same regard as they are today. For example google ’spit dogs".
