How long is Pina’s other thumb? Also, when was the last Friday the 13th which had a full moon? (My father will be 98 at the time of that future Friday the 13th with a full moon.)
And under the category of stories which may or may not be true, he supposedly would from time to time produce a live lobster from his coat pocket, claiming it was his pet. Of course, lobsters can survive for some time out of water, but not for long. He’d take the lobster home and have it steamed or roasted for dinner. Next day, a visit to the seafood vendor for a fresh one to go in his pocket.
I would have no trouble cashing a check from him [if I would even take one in the first place] – I have seen nothing from him that I would call ‘art’. But that’s why we have galleries and they are usually sectioned off; separating the art from the non-art – depending on your own interpretation of those words.
Similar to Picasso: when he was having some custom cabinets built, the builder didn’t quite understand some detail or another. So Picasso used a large sheet of paper and drew a sketch of exactly what he wanted, and asked the cabinet-maker what would he charge him for building them. The cabinet-maker said to Picasso that if he would sign the sketch, then there would be no charge!

Not finding any Dali-drawn checks online. I wonder if that’s a myth.

Jacob always gets a ride.

Dali has to save his money for mustache wax.
But Jacob saves a lot of money not buying gloves.
Is a Friday the 13th with a full moon bad luck for only werewolves?

Lobsters were a recurring element in the paintings, drawings, and sculptures of Dalí, as in this example…

Believe it or not, Adrian Veidt spent several years in captivity on Europa, a moon of Jupiter.

Best to go directly to the bank it is drawn on instead of depositing in your own account and then getting a “bounced check fee”.

There was a guy, named Boggs, who drew money, and then, at restaurants and shops, would offer to sell the drawing at face value.

Dali is lucky he didn’t live now, when you can deposit the check by taking a picture of it and still keep the check.
