Ergo, Bush was using his dog as a tax dodge and was never held accountable for it.

I read somewhere that Grumpy Cat made something like between $80 million and $100 million for her family. Even though she died, she still earns money for her family through merchandising, just like Elvis Presley.

Yeast collected from 35-million-year-old whale fossils? A fossil is created when organic material such as bone is replaced by minerals over many eons. Last I checked, yeast doesn’t come in the form of limestone…

The White House dog has a salary… and you wonder why the economy is down the dumps…

The item about Millie is completely misleading… like comic strip clickbait.

The dog did NOT have a government (or any other) salary and was not used as a tax dodge.

Barbara Bush wrote a book, credited to Millie herself, supposedly giving a dog’s view of life in the White House, to raise money for a nonprofit literacy foundation.

I had to look it up make sure that was in 1991, and it was.

The book became a best seller, and Millie, as the author, earned a lot of money.

She was listed as a dependent on the Bush’s tax returns… they paid all the taxes on Millie’s income and then donated “her” net profit to the foundation… so they earned nothing from it.

Same with any sales in the following years.

I’m no Bush fan or apologist… but what’s fair is fair.

Anyway the senior Bushes have started to look quite honorable in light of their son…

and even HE looks somewhat honorable compared to the present situation.

As a homebrewer for more than 30 years, of course i need to to dig into the beer story. Here’s one article: https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/symbiartic/bone-dusters-paleo-ale-brewed-from-real-fossils/

I do have to question it however. As @LeftCoastKen suggested, fossils are essentially minerals that replaced organic tissue. I do not believe one bit that the yeast collected from the whale fossil was prehistoric itself. My guess is they just discovered a strain of yeast that is just not normally used for beer. There are always studies occurring where someone collects yeasts from various sources (usually farms, vineyards, fruit, etc…), isolates the different strains, then attempts to make beer from them, all for the science of brewing and to determine and isolate a potentially new strain that has some viable marketability.

And if you are interested in what it tastes like, here is a review that (IMHO) does a decent job if describing it. JamieDuncan: "Not what you expect, clear golden color, not a lot of amber in the appearance. Somewhat foamy head that dissipates to nothing and has no lacing. Pear and apple in the aroma and the same in the taste. It was very surprising, had to go back and check the bottle. If I did not know better I would have sworn it was a cider. Thin feel, but very clean on the finish. Overall this was a very interesting and somewhat tasty beer. If you are looking for a good amber, maybe not, but a tasty drink then yes. I enjoyed it, and recommend it just for the interesting experiment by lost nation with whatever “fossil” yeast is. May have to try more of their stuff."

If the chicken has pierced earrings the eggs will be ‘over hard’.

Chris Marckres got his prosthetic leg after skydiving over Farmer Joe and his 6 daughter’s house.

The Lost Rhino Brewing Company proved that skunks did exist 35 million years ago.

Like Ruth before her, Millie had a better year.

Why would a dog have a salary? All she needs is food & pets.
