Just wait until a certain reptilian enthusiast comes along to prove that Slower is Possible.

Seriously, hiker? S&R trying to contact you and you thought they were telemarketers? Hope you’re off Mt. Elbert after two months.

The potato reminds me of a miniature Snowman. Since it is near Christmas, they could decorate it that way.

My goodness, what spell would John Cage hold over that church? Was he some sort of immortal supernatural dude, for them? And I get phone calls from unknowns all the time, but I’d pick up even their calls if I were lost. Like, no, I don’t care about my Microsoft hackers I’m lost please tell someone even if you’re calling from a completely different country! (But that’s just me, what do I know?)

That hiker getting calls he ignored? Wouldn’t that mean he was in range of a tower? Wouldn’t the emergency feature on his phone allow him a 911 call, even if it was another carrier’s tower?

That entry about the lost hiker just goes to show how dumb “smart” phones have made people. He’s getting calls, but he can’t make one????

We’ve all ignored good things because of bad experiences.

Take care, may self-crowned Nigerian Prince Mboko “I’ll Gladly Pay You Tuesday For Your Bank Account Password Today” UmPluzoh-Wimpord be with you, and gesundheit.

While ignoring the phone calls from search and rescue teams, the lost hiker did get a great deal on car insurance and gave his credit card and checking/savings account numbers to a kindly man working from a crocodile dung hovel in suburban Calcutta who found a serious problem in the Windows on his Apple Mac. Believe It or Not!

    I’m afraid I don’t get the 2640 reference.

And then, one fateful day, they took Doug to a nearby McDonald’s…

I don’t blame the hiker. I don’t answer a call unless it has a name I know or I recognize the number.

The “car’s extended warranty” calls have been around a few years now. Comics make jokes about them, so they are widely known. So, why do they continue?

Imagine if they played 4’33" as slow as possible. People would probably be creeped out by how quiet the church is all the time

I don’t think tourists are flocking to that church to hear the music. They are going to the one down the street playing Mozart.

While it may sound stupid that the man ignored Search and Rescue. I think I can understand how it happened. I’m having to set up a new phone from my 3G to a 4G. The new phone has to where an unknown phone (unlisted) number just goes to voicemail. It is suppose to cut down on unwanted calls. That may have happened here.

How long was the hiker lost for? Not too long, I’d imagine, if he/she still had battery life in their cell phone.

My dad used to keep a clip board near his chair, where he read, watched tv etc.. On this clip board were papers of things he wanted to remember, such as the kwh used EVERY month since we moved to the house in 1963, same with the water bills. One time he was flipping through the pages, and stopped to look at one. There were 2 sentences written on it. Neither one had any connection to the other. He looked at them for a few minutes, obviously trying to figure out what they were about. Finally he said, “These are the punch lines to 2 jokes. Maybe someday I’ll remember the jokes.” He had a very dry sense of humor. He died 23 Dec. 2006, I still miss him.
