I’m going to guess that Japan’s abundance of seasoned citizens is attributable to relatively clean air and water, regular moderate exercise, a good diet high in fatty fish and seaweed – “The Mediterranean Diet” Japanese style if you will – and maybe some really great genes.
The geology of the Hudson Bay is largely because of some very rapid glacier movement in the (relatively) recent past, which may have affected the crust so significantly that sensors can pick up differences in gravity in the area.
Japan is the current documented record holder for longest lived male——-116 years. But several Japanese women have lived or are living at older ages than that. The late Jeanne Calment of France still holds the record for longest lived person, aged 122 (1875-1997). Nobody else has broken the age 120 barrier yet.
What if one of those test bears really, really wants what’s in the container, goes into overtime, and finally cracks it open? It lasted 60 minutes but it can’t be considered Bear proof right?
The 1920’s—The Marx Brothers’ THE COCONUTS was a Broadway show before it was made into a movie.
Author George S.Kaufman didn’t enjoy teh Marx’s constant ad-libbing,especially since it made the show run overtime and theyhad to pay the stagehands extra.
He confronts Groucho about it.
GROUCHO:“Remember, they laughed at Fulton and his steamboat!”
Old rocks are loved and revered by some of us. I for one am a fan of Eddie Cochran. Oh you mean stones.. well, there’s the Rolling St.. oh you mean geological rocks. Never Mind. ~ Emily Litella

Just who is it that’s certifying the bear-resistant containers?

And Japan’s 16-and-under population is the lowest it’s been since 1950. They’re headed for a population collapse.

Those Hudson Bay rocks have witnessed quite a few extinction events. Did they also see Theia crash into Earth, thereby forming the Moon.

My trash can gets beat up weekly, bear has not got into it yet. It jumps on it, tosses it and swears at it

The Japan factoid by itself is meaningless if it’s not compared to the rest of the world, or to other industralised countries.

How do they RECRUIT bears for these tests? And what human volunteers to do it?
Also, remember the commercial where they tested luggage by having a gorilla maul it?

How do you date a rock? But then, who’s going to correct it?

Should not all rocks everywhere be the same age? Considering that the last aliens to visit did not bring any new rocks with them.

So do they have bears on staff, or just go to the local zoo and toss their product in the grizzly pen?

I’m not a geologist by any means, but wouldn’t most of the rocks on earth be the same age (allowing for meteors, lava ,etc)?
