I used to buy and sell old toasters, the ones from 1907-09 ceramic ones I always sold to a person in Australia! The rest, tin ones…surprised houses didn’t burn down or kids didn’t get electrocuted
If I ever come across a toaster, that does everything it’s supposed to, and doesn’t leave half the bread burned and the other half untoasted, I would stick with it as long as possible. As it is, I buy a new toaster about once a year.
Does someone know how the house is built where the horse fell in? I don’t understand how it could fall through a window, end up in the basement and is hard to come free. Where is what in this house? I guess it’s not a common building like the houses we are normally used to in wide parts of the world.
OK, so this is the absolute truth. My household still uses a toaster just like the one in today’s strip. It’s from the 40s or 50s. Does this qualify me for RBION?
Considering horses spend 2/3s of their days chewing plants, having such large teeth are a necessity. And they’re constantly growing to offset the daily wear and tear. A modest sized brain is all they need to eat, reproduce and run away from predators.
Nowadays they make things so they do fail. They need you to buy their product, not make reliable product that will last your lifetime. We’ve been through 4 toasters, that I can actually recall, within the past 10 years, and all — supposedly good (?) — name brands.

Jimmy James inherited the toaster at a young age, when his parents were executed for naming him ‘James James’.

It took 4 hours to get the horse out of the basement because he was watching Mr Ed reruns on the den’s TV.

I’m still using an infrared toaster oven my parents bought circa 2008. It doesn’t look as good, but it works just as well as it did when it was new.

Does the toaster also toast bagels?

I have a Hoover electric-perk coffee pot Mum got in the mid 1960s. It still works perfectly.

My wife and I still use an Osterizer blender we received as a wedding gift 52 years ago, and a West Bend toaster our oldest son gave us 30 years ago.
