OK, small detail omitted: was Dale “Grey Beard” Sanders doing it upstream or down?

And why, if he’s from Tennessee, does he spell the color gray the British way?

I call BS on that alligator. He’d be rich from the tooth-fairy loot and have door-dash bring him fish.

How long does it take to count 76 million salmon? Do they use a calculator? Or, like… count on their fingers?

That’s a lot of teeth! Wouldn’t it be nice if our teeth grew back in when we lost them?

If you put a boat in the river you can go the whole length without a single paddle. Just keep it from beaching.

Well, if the gators would switch to donuts (like me) they wouldn’t go through so many teeth

The Mississippi is 2,340 miles, so Mr. Sanders averaged slightly under 27 miles per day.

I call that pretty impressive for an 87 year old man.

Actually I call it impressive for anyone.

87 years old, pretty impressive paddling the length of the Mississippi, but I presume he was going with the current not against it…The number of salmon getting to Bristol Bay may be a record for recent times but probably not back in the times before the overfishing, pollution, damming, and other problems for salmon took place.
