still got my W98se software…but Fedora16 runs hotter than anything MS or Apple can come up with! still: what is so important you do it in bed, and it isn’t sleep or sex?
Yes, actually! While LCDs have improved (IPS panels, OLED on the horizon), they still can’t match the sharpness, accurate color rendition, infinite color gamut, ability to view the screen from any angle without having to hit the “sweet spot” for undistorted image, or response time of a quality CRT. I’ve got a color-calibrated 21" monitor (it’’s a svelte 24" cube with 1600×1200 resolution). Although I did upgrade the computer over the years. 16GB RAM, i7 CPU @4.0 GHz now, versus 2 MB RAM, 80486 @ 50 MHz.
masterkrain: I am using one now, and have two spares. Why should I waste money just to have the “latest thing” which will be “obsolete” in a few months?
Yes, I had a large screen CRT monitor, but it took up way too much room on my desk. The color, defintion and clarity were great but sometimes you just have to change out.
When you get the urge to work on that book you are writing, yet you want to stay in your warm and comfortable bed. Ah yes, I remember longing for a laptop computer. That was just last year. Way to go Rose!
i bought the cheapest laptop i could find and it covers all my humble needs. i admit bluetooth and a built in web cam would have ben a nice convenience. but i still dot need ether often enough to want to upgrade. sometimes more is not necessary.
I’ve got an old large moniter also. But it is now thank goodness regulated to backup. The LCD’s break down a whole lot faster than the monster CRT’s. Am on my 3rd LCD in 3 yrs.

Rose wanted to ‘monitor’ Jimbo’s reaction to the situation on the computer!

When the passionate kissing subsides… Jimbo’s a great guy still.

I can remember when Rose was absolutely terrified of using the computer.
