Squrriels!

Where’s the missing lynx?

We put out dry cat food for the ferals (well kept & fixed!) and we get squirrels, birds, raccoons, skunks & a very persistent possum.

Oh! and once a bear!

I’ve never seen the problem with squirrels “raiding” the bird feeders. But then, they are so uncommon in northern NM and with the decades long drought I don’t mind helping out any critters that will accept.

I used to put carrots out for the rabbits but the groundhogs ate them. Rose is just too nice to all those squirrels. They all come running to her.

Cats can be annoying, but we have 2 of them … and I’m a softie at heart so they run things at times (including laps.) we have a high coyote problem in our neighborhood so our cats are indoor only. Had a little dog for 9 years but we think the coyotes got him. We might get a dog later (from the local pound of course) after the kitties are gone. Peekaboo is meant to be the obnoxious end of the cat loving spectrum, but that’s what makes a fun comic. And we have ground squirrels in our backyard too … live under our hottub deck – and recently killed an ornamental bush – but that’s life in suburbia. So blessed in many ways, it’s the little things that we complain about.
