Peekaboo: A flamboyant server makes all the difference!
I just set the food down and if the cat starts to walk away I tell him, “If you don’t want it too bad thats all you get” and walk away. Then I peek round the corner to see him munching away. Just have to show ’em whos Boss. :)
My cat does the same thing, I just tell her as I am pointing at the food, eat that’s all your getting. Then she looks at me an meekly walks over and starts eating. It’s very expensive cat food to because I love her so much! She just wants to run the house now an then.
We had a pet stray. If she didn’t like the cheap food I bought, the crappy bag just went away slower. The ones she liked more went faster. If she would have not eaten it at all, I probably would have bought her something different. But they eat.
I think the government uses the same strategy when calculating CPI.
Had a coworker once named Armando who was quite a flamboyant server too. Hard worker, great attitude he got rich moved back to mexico and wound hooking up with his pool boy last I’d heard.
I have a better solution…two or more cats. Finnicky cat don’t want to let the others have her share. If neither cats eat for a day, i lower the cooking bowl content first. If they still snob the food, then I do change brand.
I always get several different kinds of food and put out some of each because I have so many cats and this allows them to pick the one they like. The food always is gone by the end of the day.
The cat may eat when it gets hungry, but mine can hold out for quite a while. Either that or he just gets so upset that he pukes all over. So, gotta feed him what he wants. I know what brand he absolutely hates now and won’t get it again.
Open the door, let the cat out. He can eat all the rodents he can catch, and save me the money.Better yet, open the door, let the cat out, close the door. No more problems with finicky eater!

Maybe some cats have this “thing” like some people do who can’t eat while other people are around/watching… Who knows?

Maybe Peekaboo is concerned that Meemaw might fall on her.

At least I’ve never had one like I saw on AFV last night: When she put the bowl down, the cat took one look and GAGGED!! I nearly LMAO!!!

By the time Meemaw served the dish, it was no longer cold from the refrigerator, which was probably also a factor.
