Yes Spanish peanuts uncooked. Cook. Added to the candy. We (used to have a candy store) added peanuts after water cooked out of the candy and then just before done added soda and that made the brittle very hot. Poured out on steel slab to cool.

When I make it, peanuts. And sometimes cashews or almonds as well. I don’t buy store-made peanut brittle anymore.
