I still read “There Will Come Soft Rains.” and become sad. I think in my edition the date in the story was 2026. I think things got better for a while, but they’re getting bad again. Sorry for the downer, Rose is Rose should be for happy thoughts!
My favorite Bradbury is “The Sound of Summer Running,” from “Dandelion Wine.” Wonderful evocation of summer. Of course, this panel is, too. Now that I’m retired, my afternoons are filled with reading—visiting old “friends,” and finding new. Lucky, happy Pasquale!
Ray Bradbury, Robert A Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Andre Norton, Poul Anderson, Anthony Boucher, Fritz Leiber, Theodore Sturgeon, Alfred Bester ….I needed All of them and more to get through High School. .

On a day like that long ago, I read the entire “The Martian Chronicles.”
