No, don’t do that. Be fair. Lots of men don’t want to share the household responsibilities.

Sure, let’s do this. As long as we give the women all of the men’s responsibilities, right? Fair is fair.

I’ve always wondered why most men think they shouldn’t help with the household chores. It’s their home, too. . .

It comes from a time you may not remember, Nannette; once upon a time men worked outside the home and women worked inside the home; furthermore, a man and a woman got “married” to one another, raised children, and were a “family.” Bizarre, I know.

They did in WW-I too and it didn’t get them anything. After WW-II, they were told to go back to the three Ks of the country we just defeated, and let the men have their jobs back. No event gained anyone any freedom, just relentless slogging.

A lot of cultures have had separate but equal roles where those with skills in cooking and garment making are just as honored as those with skills in hunting and war, and in which those so inclined can excel in the opposite sex’s roles. But the only one I have found with no defined sex roles were the Scythians, in which all were warriors and all tended the house during the winter when they were less nomadic. Anyone find another? Please answer tomorrow.
