Looks like they already had something to eat. So they should have packed some fake plastic food items. That would have taught those squirrels something.
One night we were having dinner on our back porch. Friends pulled into our driveway (they were loaning us their car) so all 4 of us went to say Hi & exchange pleasantries. We were gone from the table for just a couple of minutes. When we got back, we watched a squirrel jump off the table & walk off of our porch with one of my husband’s Tater Tots!
I find a catch here. Apparently the snack basket is supposed to be empty going by the scraps left in the plates. But I love this family for showing us the way to relax. Kudos!
For me, what makes this cartoon special is the barefoot boy with cheek. It brings back fond memories of 4- & 5-year Summers in the Eastern Panhandle of WV, when and where I ran around shoeless & mostly clothingless (just shorts) all Summer. By the end of the season, I was brown as a nut and the soles of my feet were like the leather in shoe soles. Great times, those.

They’re smarter than the average squirrel. (And it’s pronounced “pickanick.”)

If you don’t usually see it, today’s Cat’s Cafe is a nice little story. Enjoy!

It’s easier when the victims are fast asleep and don’t hear what you’re doing until it’s too late!
