Around here you have to worry about throwing a tick at someone. They love to hide in leaves.

Ick – bugs and icky things in leaves.

Spent today doing our second leaves cleanup for the year. Normally we forget about it and then in late November husband announces that we cannot put lights on the tress and bushes unless we get rid of the leaves or there will be a fire and we do them one time. Being home and hearing the neighbors gardeners blowing leaves onto our property (on purpose) gets him going about leaves. He bought a new device to deal with them. Normally I use a snow shovel to shovel them into the garbage bags (easiest method as far as I am concerned), but he bought a piece of corrugated plastic that one pushes the leaves onto and then it folds up into a square funnel, lift it and pour into the bag – I prefer shoveling.
