I miss the old days of waking up my loving wife to go to bed. Many things changed that routine over the last 5 years, MIL moved in with us when she was diagnosed with dementia and took over the couch so no napping anymore. Then in March my loving wife died suddenly and unexpectedly leaving me to care for MIL alone and in August MIL died so there is nobody to wake to go to bed.
For all who have lost family members, I offer my condolences. I have lost both parents and one of my siblings, so I know of the holes left in your lives. My twin sibling has chosen to isolate himself instead of dealing with reality and getting on with life. I feel very fortunate that I have close family (children and grandchild) who care and are supportive. Please remember to count those people as blessings, and to devote yourself to being supportive of them as well.

I hate falling asleep with my reading glasses on, but my dreams are clearer at least.

I’m so sorry. Understand. My beloved husband died early September.
