Maybe they have comic books inside for Jimbo to pass some time with.

It doesn’t take me all that long

I have a little stack of 3×5 cards with the titles of the books I’m looking for, I know what authors I want and check the cards if needed

I tell myself to stick to the list and nothing else, mostly I do

Love ‘em (books) and leave ’em at the library. A lot of pleasure without affecting the budget. Plus, InterLibrary Loan, and digital recordings expand one’s possibilities.

Huh. Most fiction nowadays can be read thus: first chapter, skim for dialogue, last chapter. . .the . . .uh, stuff. . . Amazon “recommends” to me isn’t even worth skimming the dialogue. . .

..because if you do, they will buy it to read at home. If you don’t, it might stay in the bookstore.

Back in the normal times – our normal Friday night entertainment after dinner out was to go to Barnes & Nobles and walk around for the evening. In the more recent times that were still normal we would go to a different B&N on Saturday night between dinner out (again) and going to the movies for our weekly Saturday night date.
