I had a surprise buck sighting yesterday. 2 bucks with antlers growing in, hanging out by the side of the road.
My wife had me beat: She had a surprise bat sighting. She counted 7-10 bats the other night. That’s up from the last few years when we had very few bugs, and so few birds and bats.
This morning I had a butterfly sighting AND a dragonfly sighting, within seconds of each other. Since I love both (and, living in the city we don’t see them often enough) it really made my morning.

Indeed it will. We have lovely butterfies this year, probably due to all of the annuals planted this spring.

I’ve sighted a few alligators in my neighborhood. They are not half as scary as snakes, IMO.

When I was a kid I used to call them flutter-bys, still think that’s more descriptive than the correct term.
