I remember once, decades ago, my aunt came home from college and was proud of her new calculator (yes, those were a big deal in the 70s). My grandmother couldn’t understand the excitement and didn’t see the use. They decided on a speed/accuracy challenge: grandpa started tossing out numbers with basic arithmetic functions (ie 557 + 29 / 2 – 60 * 11). Aunt couldn’t keep up and her mother aced it!
