Funny enough, we never had any of our cats go on the kitchen counter. Visited friends last saturday, and two of their cats promptly went on the kitchen counter.
Of course she’s on the counter! Along with my Lily who also jumps up to the counter! But sometimes she jumps up there when I’m doing the dishes and gives me a headbutt so I let her do it.
never the counter, always the top of the fridge, the talker [Siamese blue point] and the squawker [white American long hair] held court there for years.
I trained my first cat that getting on eating surfaces was not allowed. He passed that no-no on to the next cat, and so on until there was a two year gap in having cats. The next cat I trained and it has continued.
This toon really brought back memories of a cat I once had. She was a live cartoon in fur. Used to lay on my back on the floor with both arms folded across my chest a certain way, sort of like some Egyptian mummy. Once when I turned my head did I notice how my cat was posed precisely the same way with her head turned watching TV as well. Wish I had some one snapped a photo of that moment. Hysterical little animal.

Not enough space there; she’ll have to do with the inner window sill if the door to the kitchen is open.

I love that they’re in the same pose — even though cats never sleep in that position.
