I was mildly confused decades ago about who this new guy Khufu was until I learned someone had decided the world should stop calling him Cheops, the Greek version of his name. I never would have guessed that that tidbit of information would long afterward allow me to get a not very funny joke.

‘garlic’? Not really fond of garlic, though there are a few things made of garlic that I enjoy, and even are a great part in some dishes, but garlic alone can hardly pass it, and would never think about placing it in a pizza

That’s $17.16 at todays exchange rate.. but back then.. probably, a couple of years wages. and 44 cents (tip) would buy 4 goats.
