    That’s what happens to the incredibly intelligent. Anything less than perfection is seen as a failure. The best thing to do is look in the mirror and say, “I did not fail”.

    That’s not really over-achieving. That is under-achieving in regard to expectations. If others, who can judge you more clearly, estimate you as a straight C student and you got a B+ because you would only settle for a A+, then it is over-achieving.

    My friend does this when he get’s an A-.He’s an A-/A student, so this happens often-ish

    I hate people like these. Whenever someone in my class does this, I feel like shoving my failed test results (which is often) up to their faces and ask them sarcastically: “Do you see this? Now THIS is actual failure, my friend!”
