Hey, Superman, I got a question: why are you lying about X-Ray vision? What do you mean? The way perception works is that one thing emits a signal, and the signal is absorbed by a receiver. So the only way you could have X-Ray vision is if you have some ability to force human bodies to admit so much radiation that you can see them through thick barriers. You have the power to make people's bodies spontaneously admit huge bursts of energy. Is the power limitless? How do you do it? Why haven't you told anyone? The only reporters who seem to get interviews with Superman are Lois Lane and Clark Kent, and Lois now has leukemia. But because Kent doesn’t, Superman has been ruled out as a possible cause.

Whenever someone discovers Superman’s secret identity, it’s either (a) someone who can be trusted not to tell or (b) a villain who dies too soon to divulge it. But what if it were a little kid who didn’t have the hang of keeping secrets yet?

Another indication of Superman’s alien origin. The way a human eye is constructed, it could not use x-rays for vision.
