Sometimes, a turn on is just a turn on.

You can only change your POP3 settings if you’re READY to change your POP3 settings.

Tech support: “You CAN learn to deal with these problems. But it’s a very long process and you have to be willing to commit yourself to it from the start. Ah … what sort of insurance do you have?”

Years ago, the easiest way for tech support to fix thorny issues was to say, “Re-format your hard-drive and use your installation disks to reinstall your system. Call back if that doesn’t work.” Windows 3.1 and DOS came on three floppy disks, as I recall. For some of today’s computers, in psychotherapist terms that would be like telling you to re-enter your mother’s womb, be absorbed, and go through the process all over hoping you turned out better.

Wiggle my wires, push my buttons, and turn my knobs. It that doesn’t work, reboot me. If that doesn’t work, either blame the end user or declare my flaw a feature and tell me I’m supposed to work like that.
