At the risk of appearing JAD, last year a museum display of torture instruments from, I believe, England, came to the west coast. It was so gruesome, so unimaginable that these things were actually used by people on people. These weren’t fake, weren’t replicas, they were real articles, designed by humans to cause unbearable pain to humans, from earlier times. I will not go into details.
