I always pretend I’m someone else and they made a mistake. It drives them crazy.I once ran into an old ex-girlfriend at a grocery store. She recognized me and I pretended to be someone else , after a few minutes the exchange became heated and she stormed away calling me a jerk. 20 minutes later I was behind her in the checkout lane and I acted completely surprised and overjoyed to see her “Oh my god I haven’t seen you in 20 years how’ve you been” . She shook her head, called me an @$$hole , told me she was recently divorced and gave me her phone number.
