As “Dry Bones” (cartoon panel in the Jerusalem Post) once put in the mouth of the New York Times, “All the news that fits, we print.”

And we get TV news instead? Come on, that’s the stuff they scrape off the paper at the bottom of the cage.

Besides, as on who used to work for a little Daily, they sell advertising. The news is incidental, but at least they don’t make the incidents up.

The size of a newspaper is largely decided by the amount of advertising it has: more ads mean more pages with more news holes to fill. In case you were wondering, a newspaper is an advertising delivery device.
