(rewrite) What a wonderfully sexist cartoon. Could have come from any of those stale, predictable 1950’s men’s magazines. Clearly, Shoe seems to believe it’s still then. Tragic, because, once upon a time, Show was pretty progressive. For its day.

With all the male-bashing that goes on today….this is refreshing.

Let’s swap out the last panel with a punchline or two….

“That’s why I’m speaker of the house!”

“I’m following in Ted Kennedy’s footsteps!”

“That’s why no one can read my transcripts!”

“My hunting buddy is Dick what’s his name!”

Keep life in perspective everyone. If we can’t laugh at our (collective) selves, then we truly have a problem… But it’s not with those smart enough to smile.

Of course, then there’s Maxine Waters, who has never had her brain engaged when her mouth was running.

Thanks Y’All for comments from the heart. I love reading what you got to say. Of course, I have been using Turtle Wax since the 1960’s. I am usually all wet, L0L.

I didn’t even think of it as sexist until that was pointed out; I think it says more about the person who reads that into it. For me, the joke would work just as well if it was his mother, brother, father, son-in-law, uncle, boss, business partner, dog, …

Why do people continue to get “there, their & they’re” wrong? Is this an example of bill(the geek)gates spellcrack?

Some of us are more sensitized to such mis-usage (or misspelling) than others, and then some never quite learned that level of detail. Schools are likely part of it.

I used to read through SpaceLab documents at work, looking for oopses, and some things jump out at me, but not everyone has been so blessed (or cursed).
