Only back THEN was it reality.

Heck, when I was a kid we didn’t even get to watch the news because our t.v. didn’t work. We just told everyone that we’re watching the Helen Keller channel.

In reality, the news was on at 6 & 11 when I was a kid – and 11 was WAY past bedtime!

How true. But then again there was John Cameron Swayze!

We had “Dancing with the Dinosaurs”, "The Real Housewives of Bedrock,and of course Wolf Blitzer with the news.

To think we once turned on the TV to be entertained, and now the only way to do that is watch the news.

Back in the old days, when all we had was a black & white tv, the only news I ever saw was at 6 pm, and it was always about Vietnam. Any news that came on at 10 or later was way past my bedtime.

and only the useless read it, or use it (what for, i don’t know). most commentary owners never read the comments posted anyway. it’s just more or less a chat room for really wierd people. heh. i’m here. nuff sed.

if you want to see whats going to be on the next day watch the ten o’clock news the night before

We’ve always had reality television, although “back in the day”, we called it “game shows.” Shows like “Press Your Luck” have been replaced by shows like “Survivor.” Shows like “The Dating Game” has been replaced by “The Bachelor/ette.” And shows like “Name that Tune” have been replaced by “American Idol.”

Now, it’s the 10 o’clock sound bite.

i don’t remember watching the news when i was a duckling….heck i don’t know..i think my family and relatives WERE the news !!!! my cousin Daffy never watched the news…..

Queen for a Day, Game shows.

The only reality news show on anymore is THE DAILY SHOW with Jon Stewart.

Walter Cronkite every evening at six o’clock — and we were Canadians!

News..smooze..I was waiting for 10:30 when you had

the pleasure of watching Johnny Carson and an hour and

a half of “The Tonight Show.”..How sweet it……..was..

Networks signed off at 12:00 midnight with the poem

the Indian test pattern..

Either Central time, OR, my local Fox outlet is proud of “news” at 10 to beat the others; at distortions of the real happenings??

Well, we did have Friday night football games, for instance. That was usually a reality show.

we had one channel,had no choice then,and the TV took 10 minutes to warm up

That was pretty much it. Ah, nostalgia.
