Oh great, now I’ll be “playing” that song in my head for the next two hours! The thing is that I don’t just hum it or whistle it, I “play” a Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ complete with second touch counter melodies and the pistons changing the stopkeys all in my head!!

That sounds like a Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ playing the background music! At least a good part of it.

Near the middle to the end it sounds less like a theatre organ but the start sure does complete with the organ’s tremulants. I wish I could turn down his singing so it would be easier to hear the music. If you don’t already know this, a theatre pipe organ does NOT sound anything like a bluidy church organ!! It sounds A LOT better!!

If you want to see and hear a REALLY good example of a Wurlitzer theatre organ go here:

How old do you have to be to “get” today’s punchline? Probably as old as I am.

Another good theatre Wurlitzer is at the Ohio theater in Columbus. Every summer they run a Summer Movie Series, sponsored by CAPA, where the organ is the pre-show and intermission entertainment. There is also a silent flick show during that series, with organ accompaniment. Series tickets are usually 10 for $30, and only $3.50 or so for individual tickets. It’s worth the time, and schedule usually comes out in the spring.

One only hopes that a date goes from wine to organs.

I read the story that Jon Bonjovi went to a Wizards game and one of the players didn’t know who he was. So he asked his teammates to name one song Bonjovi did.3 out of 4 said Living on a Prayer. So I have been thinking Ba do ba do ba do for about 2 weeks.
