I once had a bat fly through a open window and into the cab of my truck, just after I had left one of my local watering holes. Unbeknownst to me, I had a Highway Patrol Officer right behind me, watching me swerve all over the road , trying to get the bat out. I, finally, pulled off the road, jumped out my truck, raced around to the other side and opened that door, as well, to get the bat out.It was only then that I saw the cop standing by his cruiser, with one hand on his gun and the most amazed expression on his face.He told me, had he not seen the bat fly out of the truck, I probably would have been spending the night in the drunk tank. As it was, all my Sheriff’s Dept. and FHP friends started calling me Bat Man.

It’s that early Chrysler power steering ! And yes, I know Cosmo’s driving a Desoto but it was a Chrysler product.

A Pontiac ‘Wide Track’ would be the perfect alibi.

I had a ‘58 Plymouth, ala “Christine”, although it was creme-colored. Definitely not Chrysler’s finest hour.

Those were some cars in their day. Chrome, fins, no plastic, huge, and of course; rusty, gas hogs, rattles, squeaks, high maintenance! LOL!!
