Seldom do sequels match the original. Not because they are bad, though some are, but the fact that you are familiar with the plot line. The surprise is not as great.
I took my wife to see the new movie Inferno with Tom Hanks , last Friday. This was the first time she’d ever been to the cinema. The film was dubbed in Spanish, so she’d no problem understanding the movie
.
She fell asleep, and I thought the movie was stupid .
I’m a Tom Hanks and Ron Howard fan – so I chalked it up to foreign market editing and Spanish dubbing…Still I was very disappointed.
.
I wasn’t surprised to read that the movie got panned in the States this weekend, as well.
.
I think it will be a long while before we go to the movie theater again. She wasn’t too impressed.
You go to the theater anymore, you are just watching somebody else’s TV! All special effects.
I remember watching a movie on TV and thought “This has to be one of the worst movies ever made!” I later saw a list of the 10 worst ever made – Plan 9 was on the list!
Anyone else remember “The Huns” – at the ending, they had broken though the Great Wall of China – with a jet streak across the sky in the background? Or how the West was Won – the fight on the 1880 train with a high tension power line in the background?

The last Movie I watched was “Titanic.” It was, however, good.

Give me another rerun of ‘Shawshank Redemption’ anyday. One of my top 10 favorites.

I can add the ’70s version of “The Great Gatsby” to this discussion. Oy!
