I don’t think he really said that.

I doubt ‘anyone’ would have thought that in 1908. Did Ford celebrate their centennial year back in 2003? I sure don’t remember it. (Model Ts debuted in ’08.)

I also have my doubts about that.

Don’t know what year they celebrated. I’ve seen pretty good photos of the very first motorized vehicle Ford built….I don’t think you could even STEER it. Possibly that was a later, slightly more expensive add-on?

Yes, Ford changed courtship all over the world. Crusty old dude, too.

Just to be clear: I’ve had a LOT of fun in various Fords. Thanks, Henry.

The carbon footprint of a Model T probably WAS bigger than today’s family car.

Actually, among scientists the idea that human-caused carbon dioxide emissions would start to cause global warming through the greenhouse effect dates back more than a decade before the Model T began production. Nobel Prize-winning Swedish scientist Svante Arrhenius first pointed it out in 1896. But I would guess very few members of the general public were at all aware of the concept, and at least at first cars would have been a relatively minor source of emissions compared with manufacturing.
