Long life does not mean happiness. Did you get to enjoy your life??? Do good thing for the betterment of your soul? Have some fun?
In equal amounts I hope.
My great grandmother lived a long life. She attributed it to obeying her parents and Tube Rose snuff.
I rather like the guy, who at 109 said, “Dumb luck.”
…and a lot of carrion!
I asked a guy who was 103 what his secret was. He said, “I always watered down my liquor.”
Gluten leaves me tootin’!
Reading all the warnings on them probably shortened your life.
Hey, he had bourbon, bacon and extra gluten. ’Nuff said.
I’ve known more old drunks, than old doctors….although…. a couple of ’em, that I knew, were both !
Paraphrasing Mark Twain; “If you can’t make it to 96 by a comfortable road, don’t go.”
Moderation in everything, and everything in moderation.
I’d rather enjoy a shorter life than be miserable in a longer one! And I’m at 3/4 of a century living that way with no sign of letting up yet.
Extra gluten indeed. It wasn’t all that long ago that we were encouraged to put wheat germ on everything for more fiber.
Most all things are good for you, but as the proverb goes…“Moderation, all things in moderation.”
