    I think “real” pudding has a skin, so what holds it if not bones. I just remember the cooked kind of pudding used to form a thin layer that hardened , don’t really eat it anymore.

    Just mincemeat pudding with real meat. Nowadays, nobody uses meat for mincemeat pies (delicious!), but I remember it from back in the 60’s.
