Once in the 7th grade I felt very nauseous and was permitted to walk to the principal’s office. I started down a long hall, passing classroom after classroom… until, in front of one open door, I just unloaded all over the polished hallway floor… I still remember that one bored kid — sitting in the back row, half asleep, leaning back in his chair — turned his face to me just at the explosive moment — and when I cut loose he burst out laughing. I made that kid’s day.
