Years ago, I bought my daughter a genealogy program. She was using it, and linked to the Mormon database. She was most successful at tracking our lineage through my maternal grandfather, who died when my mother was young, so I never knew him. She found a number of royalty in the family line until she finally got very excited and asked me about a name listed as an ancestor. It was Charlemagne. I was rather impressed, though I thought maybe someone had “padded” the lineage. I spoke to someone in the genealogy department at the public library, and he said that a co-worker there was also descended from him, so it was very probably correct. Then, not too long ago, I came across an article that said that the vast majority of people who were of European descent were linked to Charlemagne. Oh well…

I think they all got crowned!
