"arrivals, departures, eruptions"
I wonder how many travelers broke out laughing when they tried to announce that “Eyjafjallajokull” was causing major problems….
Oddly enough, in my neighborhood “Eyjafjallajokull” is pronounced “that volcano in Iceland – you know the one I mean.”
Actually Mac, it takes two people to propperly pronounce it.
“That volcano in Iceland - you know the one I mean…”
“The one that shut down Europe?”
“Yeah, that one.”
Sigh!
I had no problem with pronouncing it correctly - the product of a misspent youth that included a summer at the University of Iceland.
Oh, and it’s “Eyjafjallajökull”, not “Eyjafjallajokull”
And if Katla blows, at least people will have an easier time with it.
