There are SO many jokes around this. How about the young woman who was renting a place from Mr. Loesser, who was not only NOT a nice man, but had a son who was worse. The two of them worked out a scheme to pressure her into “favors” by getting her deeply in debt. Indeed, it worked, and some months later, she found herself walking to meeting with them for dinner “and”… and musing to herself, “Oh me oh my, I was a good person, but here I am, undone by the evil of two Loessers.”

Then there’s the boll weevil family: Momma weevil, Pappa weevil and a couple of dozen kids. One of the big ones wanders off and the littlest one scampers along, because he had ALWAYS wanted to be the lesser of two weevils.

There are probably a half dozen others.

It’s not the size that matters. It’s the magic you perform.

Put on some clothes and be the dresser of two evils. Wear an old tux and you can be the devil in de-tails. Have a music group carry you home on a padded stool: go to Hell on a band hassock.

One works below and the other Sits on shoulders all day….6 of one, half dozen of the other…
