For all the socialists out there – why don’t we get the same price as the rest of the world. There was a President who wanted that. I want that President back.

I was taking medication that was about $8.00 for a specific amount. They put it in little plastic wrappers and called it Extended Release, hiked the price up to $60.00 for the same amount. Same medicine, same quantity, obviously those little pill wrappers are very expensive, and once those pass through your system, really cannot be recycled.

The government does not want to pay to make medications affordable for people, so hospitals have to see them in the emergency room later on for preventable amputations, strokes and heart failures.

Then people complain how these disabled people are a drain on society.

The head of the drug company obviously has a drug plan as part of his compensation contract. Not that he needs it…..

A testament to its effectiveness then, and worth the exorbitant fee.

Talk to the GOP about the millions they rake in from Lobbyists each year! This is one of the reasons and the biggest they never retire….greed to the enth degree……THERE’S big Pharma, big Corps, big NRA, big MONSANTO…..( still making poisonous chemicals) and then there’s the enabling billionaires who give them support to screw America so they can have a bigger bottom lines….

Here in British Columbia, the government Pharmacare program pays a certain percentage of prescription costs up to a ceiling (based on income), then a much higher percentage. Because my wife had the fortune (and wit) to get a union job before being struck down with a long-term disability, Blue Cross pays the rest—I haven’t paid for a prescriptions since fairly early in the year. (My wife pays the Blue Cross premiums, which are nothing like the premiums that Americans pay for their insurance; it has also paid for all or part of my dental work, my CPAP machine, her disability scooter, my hearing aids…) The provincial government has a committee that rates drug effectiveness, and restricts its payments to the drugs it considers effective and worthwhile (and of course negotiates their prices), although a doctor can request special authorization for special reasons. Certainly not a perfect system, but it works well for many.
