    gedub I believe “diem” is Latin for “day”. I could be mistaken, but that’s the meaning usually attached to it.

    @Rmom, you’re right. “Diem” is day. Some corporations have a capped amount of money that is given to employees during trainings (almost like an allowance) for food and lodging. It’s usually calculated “per diem” - per day.
