Two-Way Wrist Radio, to two way wrist TV, to the Magnetic Coupe, a half-lunar grandchild…. Fearless Fosdick might have been more realistic. But Chester Gould knew how to make the best villains.
Using his ‘30s era high tech to track down and lock up Depression Era trolls. Inspiring Fearless Fosdick to root out the Moonshiners in Dogpatch. Wit a bit o’ hep from B. O. Plenty. (ptooey!)
I found when trying to find cityscapes in the old strips, there really isn’t many of them. Gould drew a lot of wide shots from the bird’s eye view (which, knowing he wasn’t an overly confident artist, could be his trick to hide horizon lines). However he chose his angles, what it does do is creates a claustrophobic world of frantic action and intimate crime.

Every time I answer a call on my Apple Watch, I think of Dick Tracy’s Two-Way Wrist Radio.
