I seem to remember SNL skits from the 80’s where the setting is the 1930’s and people are going around saying things ending in “see???” And also there was the quote, “I oughta pound you!” Essentially making fun of the vernacular of the day. I know that it was Phil Hartman, Nora Dunn, and Jon Lovitz doing most of the work. Anyone else remember this?

This is a take on the early comic strip “The Outbursts of Everett True” — which looks pretty much exactly like this, threats of violence and all.
