Heh … y’know, the thing I wonder about these hugely expensive palaces sports teams are building: how many people’ll pony up three figure prices for single games the moment the teams involved stop winning big.

The Boston Bruins had sellouts since forever, and packed the old Garden even in the early 1960s when they were league doormats. But once the blue-collar fan was priced out in favor of the suits, and all of the sudden the Bruins weren’t automatic playoff contenders any more, the suits switched over to sexier winning teams like the Red Sox and the Patriots, and the blue-collar fans were long out of the habit of bothering.

    It’s a caution.

I could have mis-heard, but didn’t the new scoreboard cost more than the entire original Texas Stadium?

Kenny Mayne had a story on ESPN today about the new stadium. He asked Jerry Jones “What idiot signed off on that scoreboard?” ROFL!!

If millionaires wanna put up a fancy stadium on their nickel, fine. But when they want the taxpayers to fund it, well, I get a little ticked.
