Ever watch “Dirty Jobs”? Mike Rowe did a segment on catfish noodling. The night before he shot the piece he was stuck in his hotel room watching TV when they had a documentary on catfish noodling. The doc. had interview after interview with guys who’d lost fingers and hands (infection from the bite) and even had interviews with spouses whose husbands had died from noodling.

Mike said he’s never been as scared as he was the next morning. He even called Barsky and the executive producer trying to cancel the gig.

I’m convinced this sport started when some good ol’ fisherman’s six-pack of beer fell out of the cooler and into the river.

Prolly right, Bill. Desperate times call for desperate measures. BTW, what happened to SJOY, or was it just too obvious for 2k9?

I always find it’s easier to grab them by the whiskers and yank them into the boat. We ARE telling fish stories, right?

This is why catfish farms exist…. Take unproductive farmland, fill with water, aerate, add catfish. Harvesting is done with a net that allows growing catfish to “escape”…
